Anonymous said...: the "war on terror" is absolutely absurd. even the name, how can one declare war on an abstract noun? terrorism is caused by western oppression, and to stop terrorism is not to oppress more, but perhaps to destroy the roots of terrorism, the reason they do it. have governments ever offered an explenation as to why terrorists commit such attrocities? no, of course not, yet they lead us to believe that we can stop it, not by adressing its causes, but by war, by mere force.terrorist organisations like hamass in palestine fight because they have no conventional army, and they have no helicopters and tanks. We are horrified by these terrorist attacks, but let us not forget that the Israeli army, which seems to be backed by the capitalist countries, killed an elderly man in a weelchair as he left a mosque, from a helicopter gunship. yet poloticians call the terrorists cowards. i do not suport terrorism, but i do wonder, what is more cowardly: killing innocent civillians by taking a bomb onto a plane yourself, or killing civvilians by ordering someone to drop a bomb from an aircraft at 20,000 feet?; 6:59 AM
